Great Camera and Lenses

Was using a Nikon Coolpix 8800 for the last 5 years. Was happy in most aspect with this camera and had some amazingly good photos. There were some areas that were disappointing and after reading reviews of the new SLRs it appeared that several addressed those problems. The vibration reduction capability of the D5000 is vastly improved over the 8800. The 8800 really required a tripod when shooting long telephoto shots to get decent image clarity. With the D5000 and the 300mm zoom lense fully extended I can get much improved image clarity hand holding. This is much more convenient than having to use a tripod. The vibration reduction when in use is amazing as the camera just locks onto the object being photographed. I can take pictures of birds or animals 100 feet away and get clear imagines even when cropped significantly.
The range of options available is so much better than the Coolpix 8800 with the ISO range being one of the great features. Any amature like myself will be thrilled with this camera. And one feature that drew me to the 8800 was the articulate screen which I find very handy for macro shots and sneek shots comes with the D5000. That was the deciding factor in choosing the D5000 over the D90 and two Cannon cameras. |
